Cooper’s Quest

I can hardly believe that Cooper turned 12 over the weekend! 12 years ago, we were living in Stillwater, OK and in April of 1997 I was 10 days overdue with Cooper when my water broke while talking to my friend Tamyra on the phone! She was at my house in a hurry to stay… Read More Cooper’s Quest

Racing and Skating

Well, we did it….we finished the 10K and had a great time. Wow…it’s so much easier to run that distance with good scenery and crowds cheering you on! The only thing we were missing was something GREEN! It was a St. Patrick’s Day Run and the Irish were out in abundance…red heads and green clothes… Read More Racing and Skating

The Birds, the Bees, and the Roosters…

Last weekend the men in my life were away for our church’s annual “Burly Man Retreat” (no running water…outhouse…the whole bit) , and I thought it would be the perfect time to have some “girly time” with the little lady in my life. Kayla and I had been planning this for weeks….painting toenails, cuddling on… Read More The Birds, the Bees, and the Roosters…

This was the fourth one we’ve done and Kayla says, “It’s fun, fun, fun!” I think it’s fun too – maybe a bit stressful to pull off in the month of December – but a… Read More Christmas Happenings

Back To School 2008-2009

We just completed our third week of the school year, so I though I’d post the things what each child is studying/participating in this year. I can’t believe Kory is in the 8th grade this year – which also means it is our 9th year of homeschooling! Kory is a great student – such an… Read More Back To School 2008-2009

Touchdown!

Kory had his first game of the 2008 season yesterday, and right before halftime he scored a touchdown! His team was close to the goal, and Kory caught a pass in the end zone! So exciting – lots of cheering – we were so proud!

Dr. Kenny’s Office – Never a Dull Moment

This year’s well-checks were anticipated with much anxiety. Last year, Kory fainted while simply listening to the conversation I was having with the nurse over his need for a chicken pox vaccine booster. (Not his first fainting spell.) We, of course, did not go through with the shot because it took a while to calm… Read More Dr. Kenny’s Office – Never a Dull Moment

The Great Lego Project

My kids LOVE Legos. They have for years – probably around 8 or 9 years to be exact, beginning when Kory was four or five. When questioned about what gift they might like for a birthday or Christmas, the answer was usually LEGOS! Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends would ask, “Are you sure they still… Read More The Great Lego Project

Birthday Girl Celebrates #8

Kayla’s birthday was yesterday – can’t believe she’s 8 and getting ready to start the 3rd grade! We celebrated on Saturday, though, since Robert and Kory left on their big camping trip to Acadia National Park in Maine on Sunday. For starters, it was fancy fruit cups and gluten free Belgian waffles for breakfast. Then… Read More Birthday Girl Celebrates #8
