Tuesdays are the busiest day of our week. I’m heading out in just a few minutes to teach all day at Classical Conversations. Then it will be dance class for Kayla, dinner at home, and Men’s Boot Camp Bible Study for Robert. Robert usually has a very full Tuesday as well, but canceled regular appointments and left at 6am to drive to Maine and visit a young man from church whose step-father is probably in his final days in his struggle against cancer.

So, all I seem to have time for this morning is writing these verses the Lord wove together for me this morning ~ which He almost always does when I open His Word.
If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against Him? And if your transgressions are many, what do you do to Him?
If you are righteous, what do you give to Him, or what does He receive from your hand?
Job 35: 6-7 {Elihu’s rebuke}
There is no one who does good, not even one.
Psalm 14:3
For all of us have become like one who is unclean; all of our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment, and all of us wither like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
Isaiah 54:6
Lord, forgive my thinking that there is any inherent goodness or righteousness in me. Any good works I do have been prepared by You beforehand and are fueled by your grace and strength. I did not think of them on my own or perform them out of innate capabilities or generosity. Thank you for receiving those good works as worship, though. You are like the parent giving the child the dollar to put in the offering plate. Nothing was earned or accomplished by this child. You provided it all and then received it in love.
