Cross over to the coasts of Cyprus, and look, send to Kedar and observe closely;

Has a nation ever changed its gods?
(Yet they are not gods at all.)
But my people have exchanged their glorious God for worthless idols.
Be appalled at this, you heavens, and shudder with great horror,” declares the Lord.
“My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of Living Water,
and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

Placing our idols on the Cross ~ to be washed and forgiven. |
If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.
John 4:10
Lord, thank You for an incredible women’s retreat overflowing with Your presence. Thank You for teaching us the ridiculous-ness of idolatry. Why is it that we exchange our glorious identity as adopted children of Yours with imperishable inheritances for things man-made and worthless? I confess my idols of perfectionism, good works, appearance, position, ability…and more recently the idols of security, comfort, and rest. I know that all of these things are broken cisterns, water jars that have to be re-filled continually. Forgive me for forsaking You ~ the Living Water. Amen
