Evidently, “Have a good slide” is what they say in Switzerland as a New Year’s greeting. (I learned this from Romy, who’s getting married in Switzerland this year! And guess who will be performing the ceremony? Robert! Ministry is such a sacrificial calling, I tell ya. No really, we can hardly wait and feel so honored to be a part of the special day!)
Anyway, we really are sliding into the New Year this year! Take a look at what we were doing on New Year’s Eve…Snowmobiling – or for the Texans reading – winter four-wheeling! Our friends Aimee and Bob invited us to eat and play games at their house. Aimee called at the last minute to tell us to bring snow gear so we could ride their snowmobile.
And we’ve had two snowstorms this week! They have made things look so beautiful, covering the old snow and ice and outlining everything in white.
Our backyard – a winter wonderland.
As beautiful as the snow is, I’m more than ready for a month of this:

Hi 69°F
Texas, here we come – it’s been too long!
Oh how GORGEOUS!! I love to look at the pictures. Experience it? Not so much.
How wonderful you will be down here for so long. When do you leave or are you already here?
Happy belated birthday Mel! Hope it was a great one!
