13. Aside from church on Christmas Eve for a candlelight service, my next favorite place to go at Christmastime (or any time for that matter) is….. Starbucks! What is it about that place that charms me so? The warm wall colors, hard wood floors, chalkboards announcing the newest seasonal drink, the cool music, soy chai lattes? And during the holidays, the decor is even more delightful to me. I don’t know, but some marketer/designer/publicist has my number (and a few other people’s as well, I see), and I am completely unable to walk past the green mermaid sign without becoming mesmerized and compelled to enter, order, and sit awhile.
