Mexican Steak
6-8 cube steaks
Sauce:
2 cans tomato sauce
1 cup salsa
1/2 cup brown sugar
Toppings:
grated cheese
avocado slices
Brown cube steaks in oil (I use canola) 3-5 minute each side. Place browned steaks in baking dish. Mix together tomato sauce, salsa, and brown sugar. Pour sauce over steaks. Cover dish with foil and bake 40 minutes @ 350 deg. Uncover dish, top each steak with grated cheese, and bake 5 more minutes. Place avocado slices on top of each steak to serve.
We eat this main dish with brown rice, black beans and a tossed salad.
this looks yummy! we’ll have to try it!! I made your Squash and Apple Soup this last week…we liked it!! What do you serve with it? I had to substitute some of the squash, but I think it turned out good!
Hi Margo, can’t remember what I made to go with the soup – maybe some sort of muffin and salad or grilled cheese sandwiches??!! Would love to talk sometime. What is your email address? Mine is melkrumrey@gmail.com
